How shall I kill thee, let me count the ways….For something like the last 32,000 years mankind has been boo-hoo-ing about one sort of apocalypse or another; more so now with Mayan calendar about to run out. Where there is an “end of times” scenario you can bet your bottom dollar that someone is taking it to the bank. I’m not talking about those folks who sell or give everything away to the poor so they can live it up at a commune till the end of time. No, those folks are a onetime profit, and hardly even worth mentioning. I am talking about the gift that keeps on giving - lifetime residual income from movie rights! Oh yea, that’s where the money is. Nothing sells out a theater or puts Netflix into a spin faster like the release of a planetary doom driven movie.

So, how many ways are there to destroy the earth and all of mankind as we know it? Just like getting to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop we many never have a truly definitive answer, but here are some of the ways we can get smote…with an appropriate Hollywood movie accompanying it of course.

Best of the Worst Cult Horror Films
or Return of the Son of the B-Movies from Outer Space

Ah, it’s that time of year again. The time when network TV ignores the fact that folks like to watch scary movies around Halloween. Every year it’s more and more difficult to find good old fashion horror flicks on the boob tube. I know I can go to CHILL or SY-FY and get constipated on their gluttonous over showings of cheesy movies so thick they can’t even be microwaved into something palatable. Unfortunately not everyone has these channels on their satellite or cable package. That my friends is why Al Gore invented the internet, so we could go to sites like Hulu and Veoh and watch the timeless classics that are good for the soul - B-Movies.

Horror Film Countdown to Halloween
© Buzzy Multimedia

Now, everyone who knows me, knows that Halloween is my favorite Holiday - even more so than Christmas…. horror t-shirts, fright rags, horror movies so naturally, if you’re gonna like that pumpkin gorged patch of earth, the lonely strolls through the cemeteries, the candy, the costumes, the ghosts, goblins and ghouls that come with it…then there has to be a spot deep down inside for Scary Movies. But not just any ‘Scary Movies’ mind you…they have to be bad…. real bad.

Dinosaur Valley Girls by Donald F. Glut

Dinosaur Valley Girls
“Science Fiction B movie Classic becomes C book”
Author: Donald F. Glut
Publisher: Sense of Wonder Press
ISBN-10: 091873665X
ISBN-13: 978-0918736659
Rating: 5/10

Some books are highbrow, others middlebrow, and then there is “Dinosaur Valley Girls”. From the outset the adaptation of Donald Glut’s 90 minute, B-movie Sci-Fi cult classic of the same name is anything but pretentious. In fact, it’s so campy and unpretentious some might call it fatuous. Yet its precise lack of seriousness is what makes the story enjoyable, in the same way that chocolate pudding is enjoyable-tasty, but not to be confused with carrots or broccoli. While it might not meet the rigorous standards of some readers it gets the job done.
