Guide To Gaming Dice
By Theresa Bane
©Buzzy Multimedia

In one of my blogs about gaming, I forget which one; I used the colorful little phrase “I bleed dice.” dice, gaming dice, gaming accessories We gamers know what that means, and even those people who live in the drabness that is “reality” can comprehend the metaphor well enough, but I doubt they can really imagine it.

Social Etiquette for the Gamer
©Buzzy Multimedia

I don’t know about you but I love, love, love going to conventions! For years now I have been on the circuit, always as a guest or as an author who has a table in a hallway or in the dealer’s room. gamer t-shirt, geek t-shirts, nerd clothing Either way, I was able to meet fans and other likeminded folks who just by their presence at the con meant we already had lots in common. But it was not until recently that I was able to attend a con as just an attendee.

Evil Hat Productions
An Interview with Fred Hicks Co-Creator of The Dresden Files RPG game

In the awesomeness that is Buzzy Multimedia, I was asked to do an interview with none other than Fred Hicks, the madcap genius behind the RPG “Spirit Of The Century” but he is also the man, myth, and legendary driving force who will bring to all of us The Dresden Files: RPG. As an avid gamer, I could hardly wait to pick his brain about Harry in my favorite medium.

Flesh & Blood or Digital Gaming
(RPG & Gaming - How Do You Like Yours?)

(The following article reflects the views of the author and does not necessarily reflect opinions of the staff and management of Buzzy Multimedia.)

All children, except gamers, grow up.

In the beginning there was gaming and it was good. We had character sheets, an array of dice, the occasional painted figurine to represent our guy, and a table around which we sat, looking at one another, laughing, killing, and saving the world every Friday night, like clockwork. Truly these were the best of times. Each of us remembers when we started gaming, and who “turned us onto it,” because like any good addiction, you don’t just wake up one morning and decide today is the day that I will start a new hobby/lifestyle.

WHAT’S IT LIKE TO BE A GIRL GAMER?

by Theresa Bane

Someone asked me “what’s it like to be a girl gamer?” Odd question, but I suppose fair enough. At the risk of sounding like some old coot, we chicks had it a lot harder back in my day. Gaming was virtually unheard of, and the only store in the mall that carried gaming stuff was located on the bottom level of the mall in a mazelike area. “Kathy’s Gaming Shop,” which later changed its name to “The Dungeon Masters’” was the only place you could meet, game, and shop all in one place. Kathy became a surrogate mother to about 100 kids and knew us all by name. She more or less babysat us Friday evenings and from mall’s opening to close all day Saturday. She was a sweet lady, and now nicely retired on the countless dimes and dollars we kids willingly gave her hand over fist back in the day. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me start at the beginning.

DATING IN THE GAMER SUBCULTURE
© Buzzy Multimedia
Written by Theresa Bane (Love Guru To Gamers)

Before anyone raises an eyebrow, I am both a die hard gamer and a nerd. Allow me to present my Credentials:

- In 1980 I was 11 and my mom was my first DM
- I was a member of the Dungeons and Dragon Club in High School
- I still have my very first set of dice
- There are two sets of mechanical pencils in the house: one is strictly for gaming with, the other is strictly for doing math at my desk
- There is one entire room in my home where the walls are lined with bookshelves filled with gaming books and other relevant reference tomes. This room also holds a long, thick, wooden table which seats 8. It was the dining room table that my husband gamed at when he was a kid.
