Why did Daenerys Targaryeon walk into the fire at her husband Drogo’s funeral?

Dear ARP,
The simplest answer may be the best. It seems she was acting on instinct. First she ordered the death of the woman who betrayed her, Mirri Maz Duur. There is no reason to suppose that Daenrys had been told that it would take an exceptionally fierce fire to hatch the dragon eggs. When she walked into the flames it appeared as if she was committing a sort of suri type of suicide in response to the death of her husband and loss of her unborn child. She was angry and desperate. First she ordered the death of the woman who betrayed her, Mirri Maz Duur. Then she placed the eggs in the fire. All all her hopes and dreams destroyed. So near the conflagration herself, she gave in to her passion and fell in. She had no reason to suppose she would live and not be consumed by the flames. Her survival once the flames died down along with the three hatchlings elevated her to a new status that neither her birthright nor her marraige had ever done.This is how she became know as the Mother of Dragons. In essence she reclaimed her place as the Targareons were known as dragon lords centuries before Daenrys was born.
