Dear Sara,

Who was Alice Liddell?

Waiting For Your Response,
Lisa V.

Dear Lisa,

Alice Liddell, born in 1852, later known by her married name of Alice Hargreaves, was as a child an acquaintance of the Reverend Charles Dodgson. Under the pen name Lewis Carroll, Dodgson wrote ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND and ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. The young heroine in both books is widely believed to have been named after Liddell and possibly created expressly to entertain her and her two sisters.
