Dear Johnny,
Silver John is the hero of a series of books and short stories by Manly Wade Wellman. John wanders the Appalachian mountains with his silver-stringed guitar (hence the nickname “Silver John,” though he never calls himself that), combating evil supernatural forces, including one with the unnerving appellation “the Behinder” (think about it), in the backwoods of North Carolina.
