Harry Potter Question

Dear Sara,

“Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain” I can’t remember where I read that and I’m not xactly sure of what it means. Can you help me?

Sincerely,
Sandy L.

Dear Sandy,

Yes Sandy, it is one of my favorite quotes said by Arthur Weasly to his daughter Ginny after she was nearly killed by her dealings with Tom Riddle’s diary. You can find it in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, page 329. It was meant to explain the dangers of blind trust. She should have asked questions rather than following the advice of the diary but Tom’s soul made her feel special and who doesn’t want to feel special? We can all benefit from Arthur Weasley’s warning. Don’t blindly trust information coming from sources that haven’t been checked. Sources like the internet, news outlets of various sorts and even public agencies and officials. Ask questions and investigate before giving your trust.
