What is solanum? Is this a real virus?

Dear Max,

No, solanum is the invention of World War Z author, Max Brooks. In his works, World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide, solanum is the viral agent that causes the dead to rise and attack the living. This element has survived the book to screen process and is referenced in the film, World War Z.
