Dear Cindy –
A shadowcat is a large feline, similar in size to a mountain lion but much more stealthy, in George R.R. Martin’s A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE book series. (None have as of yet made an appearance in the TV series adaptation GAME OF THRONES.) Shadowcat is also the code name of the Marvel Comics X-MEN character Kitty Pryde, who has the ability to become intangible (allowing her to walk through walls, for example).
