Buzzy Lady #1 Joy Poger is the CEO & Co-Founder of Buzzy Multimedia Publishing. Please note than the last name is P-O-G-E-R not R-O-G-E-R although if you are Dreamworks or an exceptionally interesting individual I am sure she would let that sort of mistake slide. As much a Queens girl as Geraldine Ferraro or Nancy Reagan she is also an alumni of the same school that gave us such diverse people as Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan), Jerry Springer, Simon & Garfunkel, Stan Lee and The Ramones…all of them. Leaving tenured teaching positions behind where she was adored and underpaid as all teachers are she decided to get in touch with her inner geek, throw all caution to the wind and founded Buzzy Multimedia Publishing. I love these audios - thank you Buzzy for the info. — Please email me when they are ready for release.

  • Susan

This is good news! We have all of them so far, (along with all the books) and enjoy listening to them so I can also knit. Although I got the audios, because I loved the books, James Marsters does a great job, and now I’m so used to his voice, he sounds like Harry. Please add my email to the new release notification list.

I would also be interested in anything read by Michael Shanks. Thank you.

Marsters is becoming a talented narrator. I’m a habitual listener of audiobooks and I’ve found that his readings have improved significantly since Storm Front (which, while enjoyable, clearly was not at the same level as many “professional” narrators). Does anyone know if he will be involved with any non-Butcher titles?

  • Magie

I am very excited to hear this, since I LOVED the ones James Marsters has read so far. I just couldn’t imagine anyone else being the voice of Harry, so the fact that James will continue is wonderful. I have recently gotten both Summer Knight and Small Favor and enjoyed listening to them on long drives, it was like listening to an audio play. Thanks to Buzzy Multimedia for signing James Marsters to the rest of the books!

  • CarolM

I have been a fan of James Marsters, the Dresden Files and Buzzymultimedia for several years now. I love the books and audio books and am waiting eagarly for the next ones to be issued. I always get the audiobooks from Buzzy but I admit I get the print books from nearer home in England.

  • BeckyH

I have to agree with DCLibrosaur, I love the Dresden Files but I wasn’t really thrilled by the audiobooks. I just felt that the voice acting just wasn’t up to par. After listening to Small Favor though, I was completely blown away with how well he did. Kudos to you Marsters! You rocked my car off the road! Does this mean that Death Masks and Blood Rites will be up to par as well? I can’t wait for the release! 😀 Who is the voice for the Codex Alera series? I work at a book store and noticed that there are a bunch of that series coming out to Audio, we just couldn’t figure out who was voicing them. If it’s James Marsters then that will be an instant sale.

    Greetings ladies!

i’m delighted to see you have finally got yourselves a blog site! i’m going to put the link on my Livejournal and Facebook pages.

i’m a real fan of Jim Butcher’s ‘Dresden Files’ and the biggest fan for James Marsters - so this ticks all the boxes and presses all the buttons. Thank you for setting the release dates out so clearly, it’s been a bit confused elsewhere. April can’t come soon enough on that score!

i must admit i’m not that big a fan of Jim’s other novels, but i would buy audiobooks of them if James read the series, that’s for sure. i love what he does with the interpretation of the stories.

i did read that Jim really wanted to write the fantasy series, more than the Dresden books and i bought the first - i reckoned i had nothing to lose as he is a natural storyteller. i have to admit that although i love fantasy/sci-fi, this story simply failed to grab me - sorry, Jim! But keep writing about Harry, i love those books.

i see also you are writing critiques of other books and subjects as well, good for you! i will read with interest.

My best to you both 😀

  • Dorothy

Yea! I’m so excited to hear James is going to be doing the rest of the series as well! Please email me when they come out.

  • Betty

Please add me to the mailing list to be notified when the new audiobooks are released. I can’t wait!

  • Elaine

I have all the audio books and preordered the next three, James Marsters has so many accents and voices that I forget it is not a whole cast reading the books. Was thrilled when I found out he will be reading the rest of them. I want to be where ever James is, audio books, movies, TV, music CDs, just count me in. I have Dresden Files also on DVD, just love the series. Get James to read the other books and I will have them also.

  • Ncoded

I am very happy that James is on for the whole Dresden series and I am looking forward to Nov. 2009 when I can continue the series in order. I have to say that I am not pleased by the decision to go backwards in the series instead of in order, it makes little sense to me. I will be getting them all on Audio but I will wait and get them in order and in the meantime try to find time to read the print versions to catch up. I have listened to them in my car and I’m extremely Happy with them.

    Thanks!

  • June

Elaine-I have a feeling you won’t be dissapointed. The match of James Marsters’ performance and Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files series is a wonder to hear.

  • June

Ncoded-I too wish that the books were all recorded in the order the print books were published but at least they ARE going to be released and that should give us all something to look forward to.

  • Robin

Hooray! James was asked about these at Dragon*Con earlier this year and was somewhat vague. It’s good to know that there’s a schedule in place. Since James’s reading was my introduction to the Dresden Files series — and Jim Butcher as an author — I’m very pleased that he’ll be continuing to work on them.

  • James

Cant wait for the next ones to come out in April. I started off reading the books and when i read them a second time i listened to them instead. Please leave all Marsters stuff ups in, just like in Summer Knight where he swears because he had misinterpreted the sentence. Very funny. Keep up the good work.

I must admit that I’m having withdrawal symptoms from the lack of new Dresden Files Audio Books. I’m from the UK and the audio books have never been generally available over here. Thank goodness for the good folks of Buzzy Multimedia though, I’ve got them all. I can’t wait for April when then new ones will be available. I don’t know about anyone else, but even when I read the novels myself, in my head it’s James Marsters’s voice. He is Harry Dresden for me (and I suspect for most other people who have had the priviledge of hearing the audio books).

I was lucky enough to meet James at a convention over here last year and everyone in the queue was asking about Buffy. When it was my turn I asked about the Dresden Files and he seemed so pleased that news had spread to the UK about the books. He said that his son likes them, and he seemed really pleased and proud about that. He seems like an excellent guy, as does Jim Butcher.

Last time Jim did a virtual signing, he added a quote to the copy of Small Favor that I ordered which said “here’s an extra ‘U’ for the one missing in the title” (we spell ‘favor’ as ‘favour’ over here in England). I was delighted to get the book personalised to that degree. Good stuff Jim!

Best wishes to all fellow Dresden Files fans the New Year. Let’s hope it’s a good one!

  • Trish O

I love the Dresden series. Of course I want the prize. I wish all the best to whoever does win it!

  • Belinda

I can’t wait! I’m a HUGE fan of the series (both book and tv) and have listened to 3 of the 4 audiobooks out already. I’m on book 9, so that last one is gonna wait a little, but I’ve already got it. Now I’m gonna get to go back to those books and get James Marsters’ interpretation of the stories. Again, can’t wait!!

  • Phil

I’m counting the days till I visit your table at Icon and get the newest audiobook. Will you have all the new releases? I know you’ll have the best price, you always do. I might have to bring the Harry shopping bag this year.

  • June K Williams

Sorry Phil but it looks like we won’t be able to make it to I Con this year but we will have the new audiobooks at DragonCon and if they are in by StellarCon we’ll have then there also. Of course there is always the internet and we’ll have them on our site for less than they will be selling for on Amazon.
